The first step into this project was customers’ wish to make their kitchen more modern and efficient without changing it dramatically and, at the same time, by considering the rural and convivial context and preserving the memories it brings back.
My proposal, therefore, was to repoint the stonework by keeping antique stones and meaningful decoration elements, such as the fireside, and to change the overall appearance of the place by choosing light colours, pickled wood and modern materials, such as a ceramic countertop. The double bowl sinks, a sparkling and filtered water dispenser, a food waste disposer, a blast chiller, and an American fridge are examples of a careful selection of modern appliances and tailor-made decoration choices. A storage bench, together with focused lights are the final touches for this rural, but still luminous and spacious space
